The Disaster Information Centers were formed during the Nashville Flood of 2010 in response to a need to mobilize volunteers quickly to make the most impact in critical need areas.

The EVE Certification Program was formed with a concern for the longevity of volunteerism in Nashville as well as the ability to sustain the growth of volunteerism. 

Due to the successful implementation of Cities of Service impact volunteering grants in Nashville, there were several new ideas that came from these programs to become models for other cities to use in the future.

 

Attributable to excellence in leadership and volunteer efforts across the city, Nashville has become a model for other cities. “Nashville is a fantastic example of what the Cities of Service Impact Volunteering is about and serves as a model for other cities,” according to Crawford (2014) from Bloomberg Philanthropies.
